You know how some people have their own “Second Home Country”? A friend of mine frequents Thailand every year and not only for the Songkran Festival. Another friend of mine frequents Hong Kong and not just for shopping. And I bet you also know other people who would go to the same country year after year. At first I found it weird until I realized, I actually have my own: Singapore.

People say that Singapore is a country you only go to once then that’s it. People say that you go to Singapore to look at the Merlion, go to Hershey’s Chocolate World, go to Gardens by the Bay, the Universal Studios, then you’re done. Time to pack your bags then move to the next country, or go back home. I beg to differ. I really beg to differ. While there are those usual tourist attractions that are really wonderful, there are beautiful gems in the country that make me come back to it year after year. Searching for Grace

The past few months I have been restless for reasons I do not know. I wake up tired. I go by my day-to-day exhausted. I go home drained. And the very moment before I fall asleep, I am far beyond exhausted. I am unsure why I have this heavy feeling for how many months now. If there is anything good that it has brought me, it would be finding peace whenever I close my eyes and start a conversation to the Guy up there.

I was reminded by the Priest this evening of a common prayer a lot of people recite and know by heart because of its brevity:

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.”
