Life Update in Snaps

I have really been MIA in this blog of mine and I guess this is exactly the reason why I haven’t been motivated to push through removing the “.wordpress” part of this site. I need to rethink how to go about this blog. Hmm… Anyway, just to give you guys an idea what’s been happening in my life (assuming you guys aren’t following me on Instagram), just check out the photos below!

I have fixed the laces of my new shoes. I followed the “European Straight Lacing” way of tying my brown dress shoes. It looks significantly cleaner than the usual crossover if you ask me. Continue reading “Life Update in Snaps”

Calling on Youth Groups to Join TAYO Awards!

Coca-Cola Philippines, through its social investment arm Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc., is calling on youth groups all over the Philippines to join this year’s Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) Awards, which recognizes the outstanding contributions of Filipino youth organizations in social development through innovative projects.
TAYO’s partnership with Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc. began in 2005 through the “Coke Barkada Award,” which is given to the group that best demonstrates the Coke Barkada spirit of collective volunteerism, or “working together for the community and living the value of positive action for positive change.” The winning group receives a trophy and a cash grant. The award is part of the Foundation’s response to the global initiative of Coca-Cola that aims to focus on sustainability by improving personal well-being, building stronger communities, and protecting the environment. Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc. has been the sole co-presenter of the TAYO Awards since 2006.
“Coca-Cola believes that the future of our society is in the hands of our youth, and that the power to change is multiplied exponentially as people come together on a common goal,” shares Cecile Alcantara, President of Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc. “Through TAYO Awards, and the Coke Barkada Award, we want to show the Filipino youth that they can indeed become forces for positive change.”

The TAYO Awards accepts entries from interested youth groups, organizations, clubs, and societies that are composed of at least 15 members, more than half of which must be between 15 to 30 years old. Nominated entries should be projects that have either been recently concluded or are still ongoing.

These entries will then be judged based on the following criteria: impact of the project on the stakeholders, harnessing the spirit of volunteerism and citizenship, creativity and innovation, and sustainability and effective use of resources. Winning organizations will receive a trophy created by Philippine sculptor Toym De Leon Imao, and a grant of Php50,000.00 intended to fund their new projects, or sustain the ongoing ones.

Deadline for entries is on August 15, 2013. Interested organizations may submit their entries through the official website of TAYO Awards, www.tayoawards.net.

The TAYO Awards 2013 is presented by the TAYO Awards Foundation, together with Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc., in partnership with the National Youth Commission and the Office of Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

Reál Cacao. Really Good Chocolate!

A little known fact about me is that I love drinking hot chocolate when tablea is used. As much as powdered chocolate, and hot chocolate from different café are convenient, nothing beats homemade hot chocolate using tablea.Growing up, I remember I would watch our househelp put milk and water on some pot and I’d ask her what she was doing. She would just smile and after a few minutes she’d serve really good hot chocolate. I even loved it when I could get some texture through the small tablea bits. Quite funny how even during the hottest days I’d ask her to make us a cup because it was just that good!

Fast forward to present time. For a time I have been craving for that hot chocolate that I loved when I was a kid. Fortunately, my friend introduced me to Reál Cacao.

adidas Release New Boot Silo Designed to NITROCHARGE Your Game

One of the things I love about adidas is that their shoes are both functional and stylish. adidas has been known to create the best football boots across the world, and different type of shoes as well! The first pair of shoes I bought for college are actually semi-high cut shoes from adidas and all of my rubber shoes that I use for my physical activities are also from adidas. At one point in my college life, I even obsessed on having the cool adidas x Jeremy Scott shoes (the one with wings), and the Star Wars themed shoes as well.

With football being currently in among my friends, I can’t help but also keep myself on the loop on what’s happening in the football realm. And while keeping myself updated, I just found out that adidas has actually unveiled a new pair of football boots designed for the next generation of footballers that follow the legacy and successes of the existing iconic predator, adipure & f50 ranges. Father’s Day Treat from Red Ribbon

Father’s Day is coming and it’s another occasion perfect for Red Ribbon’s delicious cakes! This year, Red Ribbon will be having limited edition Black Forest Cakes (the cake I grew up to), specially designed in honor of our fathers, the Superman in our lives.

Red Ribbon offers a sweet treat for the heroes in our lives
When we were young, the first and only man we ever looked up to was our dad. We considered him to be our Superman because even after work, he would still spend time playing games with us, share stories and even help us with our homework. On certain weekends, he would always find time to spend with us or even treat us out to our favorite fast food restaurant. But growing up, we spend less time with our fathers as we get caught up with schoolwork and as we start working. We are no longer the little boys and little girls of our dads who used to spend time flying kites with him on a windy afternoon, nor listen to his bedtime stories.
This Father’s Day, treat the best man in your life to a day that will create new sweet memories with your father.Wake up extra early to surprise your dad by cooking his favorite breakfast and to make it extra special, serve it in bed. Go out and watch the action-packed Man of Steel with your Superdad in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner in his favorite restaurant and have that long conversation you used to have. Before the day ends, reminisce on the good old days with your father over a slice or two of cake, the same way he would treat you on your special days.
This weekend, say thank you to your Superdad with a limited edition Red Ribbon Father’s Day Black Forest Cake, available in all Red Ribbon branches from June 15 to 16, for only P550. Bring back the good times and surprise him with a treat that will bring back sweet memories you’ve shared with him in the past, be it an old Father’s Day, your graduation, a new job or for winning in a school contest. Give your dad the cherry- chocolatiest Father’s Day celebration with Red Ribbon’s chocolatiest Black Forest with a cherry twist, made with moist chocolate cake filled with cream and cherries and topped with chocolates and cherries.
This Sunday is a special day for your hero—your dad. Make him remember that even though you may be taller and wiser, you’re still his little prince or princess who enjoys a Black Forest Cake the same way he does.
For the coming Father’s Day, head over to your nearest Red Ribbon branch, and treat your Superdad with a super delicious, cherry-chocolatiest cake!
