Beyond Pad Thai

A trip to any country, or even any city, is not complete without trying out local dishes. In many ways, Bangkok was a gastronomic pilgrimage, offering a variety of dishes…most of which were just too spicy for me. Still, enjoyed everything I was able to try.

For our first dinner, we explored what’s in the vicinity of Amari and we ended up trying out this food stall along the street. For such a small stall, they cook their dishes fast and surprisingly their food is quite good. How nice would it be for our street food to taste as good, and be as safe to consume. Note, I am using the term ‘safe’ very loosely.

I Need A Decent Morning Brew

How I wish that there is a quaint coffee shop near where I work with quality coffee. Don’t get me wrong, I love Starbucks, and the iced coffee of McDonald’s, and I can survive with Coffee Bean. It’s just that, how I wish coffee shops like Craft are more spread out in the metro. They’re simple, direct to the point, whimsical in some ways, they get the job done. Never mind the non-extravagant interiors. The bareness of it all adds to the experience.

I Need A Decent Morning Brew

Cup of Thoughts

One of the things I do when I go out is to find a quiet corner for a cup of coffee to sip while I’m with my thoughts, my  black book and a pen. While I do go out alone all of the time, there remains something special when I just take a break from everything. “Me-time”, as it is often called, is something sacred to me, it is something I must have.
