While some of my peers go out on Fridays or Saturdays to clubs and bars, I find myself in a quaint coffee shop tucked away in the Ortigas Home Depot. It didn’t use to have a sign, which was part of its charms, I believe. It had always been part of a ‘lifestyle shop’ slash interior design consultants space, Edition Lifestyle Store. But, yes. It now has a sign. Putting themselves more out there, or something.
Habitual Coffee. I don’t know their story. All I know is that they’re part of this “third wave coffee revolution”, and that I enjoy spending time there. They use aeropress in most, if not all, of their brews. Made me consider learning the craft. But that’s totally pending. Still in my bucket list of sorts.
One of their signature drinks is called “Old Habits Die Hard”, which tastes as amazing as it sounds. It’s basically a cold brew, with milk, and some black magic that makes it addicting. Interiors are very straight-forward. Nothing so fancy. And it’s not so empty as well. They sell cute little things to spruce your boring spaces. They also have accessories for women, and they sell craft notebooks as well. They also sell pillows. I think it’s a must if you’re into the whole “lifestyle shop” sort of business.
I think anyone who wants decent brews and lives in the area should check out Habitual. OH, if you buy an Aeropress form them, they will gladly teach you how to go about it and will recommend what beans you should get. They are amazing that way. So, check them out if you’re in the area. And if you happen to see me there, I’d gladly treat you a drink.
Note: Habitual has closed this branch and has opened shop in the following addresses:
