Ten Things I Learned in 2013

Early this year, I already knew that 2013 would be different, much different from the previous years. While 2009 was significant because it was a crossover year from High School to college, and while 2011 remains to be one of the best years in college because I met lifelong friends and the best four months of my life happened, 2013 has been loads of crazy. Do note that 2010 was also important because that year I learned that I can’t be Superman, and 2012 allowed me to have a taste of the real world.

2013 has been this weird year when the most extreme points of my life have happened. From experiencing cloud nine to going deep down in some dark abyss, from pushing myself too much to just settling and moving on, from being the one pushed over to the one pushing others. Let’s Just Ride Together! 15th Tour of the Fireflies

Last week, November 24, the Firefly Brigade and Ortigas & Co. collaborated as they held the 15th Tour of the Fireflies where cyclists of different ages and backgrounds converged in Tiendesitas and enjoyed a 38-km bicycle challenge. This year, the Firefly Brigade called for donations in cash and kind for the survivors of the Typhoon Haiyan.

Since I do not know how to ride a bicycle, I instead just sat at the back of a pickup van and took shots to document the day. It was refreshing to see people enjoying the ride and I think the photos below will show you how much people enjoyed it.

Back to Black

I’ve been feeling sick since Monday (headache + a bit of sore throat + coughs + body ache). I seriously don’t know what’s up considering I’ve been getting the right amount of sleep, I bring home less work and I have been more + the past few weeks. Really not sure what’s up. Usually, what does the trick is for me to get something I really want. It can be a simple tweet, a message, or it can be something I’ve been craving for.

Examples: Getting the Pokémon Ruby cartridge years ago because I had fever and my mom just so happened to remember I love Pokémon…after beating the 3rd Gym Leader I started feeling better. When my mom bought me The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer when I was also sick, I felt better when I was halfway through the book. In college, usually just getting pats on the back had some healing properties of sorts. Continue reading “Back to Black”

My First Encounter of Da Vinci

Exactly two years ago, I was in my first trip while I was doing my student exchange. Ange, Cham, Anj and I went to the Loire Valley where we were able to go to different châteaux and one of the more interesting ones we went to was le Château du Clos Lucé.

Located in the quaint city of Amboise, le Château du Clos Lucé was said to be where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last few years of his life. In the château, you can visit various rooms such as the bedrooms, kitchen and different halls. DSC_0963 copy Continue reading “My First Encounter of Da Vinci”
