JTA. So Rough, Baby Baby Baby Baby Baby.

Second week of JTA sem was overwhelming towards the end of it. It was still, overall, a fun week of sorts.

First. Dominic, Gianna and I went to Eastwood for the celebration of the birthday of Domz. It was just a fun gathering of some of us in the block free that time. Really missed Fazoli’s! Domz, Camae, Janine and Justin were there.Second, the meeting with Krista and Josh for ACTM’s 1st GA StratComm plan was really light and not as difficult as I expected it to be. and in a way, I’m kinda scared that maybe we didn’t do mega in-depth, but I’m satisfied with the plan. The phrasing of different parts could’ve been better, but didn’t know how to improve those. Haha!

also cute how the three of us own the old macbook white!

Tuesday, I had a meeting at night. And I’m just so happy that our meetings will just be 6-9PM once a week. I just need to find a way to tell my mom about it. The feeling of being part of the team is still kinda bittersweet and I will further go into it later on. For now, I find comfort in knowing that I’ll be with 2 ComTech friends. Beng and Ingrid!

Wednesday, OpMan meeting the whole day with my groupmates.

Thursday, I was in school 6:30am because we were coding. Sad thing, my 10am class ended up to be a free cut because my prof was sick. During lunch, I wanted to go to Starbucks for the Happy Hour. As we were about to leave JSEC, I saw one of my High School orgmates (and in fact the orghead when we were in Senior Year) who went to Canada. Hi Marvin! We first went to the Starbucks beside Cantina and, as expected, there was this freaking long line so we decided to walk to the one beside Rustan’s. I was quite positive, actually, that there would be barely any line there. And I was right! Haha!

Went back to school and stayed in JSEC. CS175 after which was really fun. I learned new stuff one can do in Photoshop! haha! Finished early so I decided to take pictures of people. Hi Mai and Sarah! When I arrived home I was sick-ish but didn’t tell anyone in the house because that would’ve meant I wouldn’t be able to go to the mini PlanSem.

Friday, CRAZY DAY. Tried to finish Finance but it was just impossible! Will really miss sir Mike! I hope he can be our teacher for Finance, for good. That night, I went to a sort of PlanSem. You see, I actually have 3 PlanSems this weekend and I was supposed to be able to go to 2 out of 3. But because I got sick, was only able to go to one. Before anyone can hate on me, the one I went was because it wasn’t out of the way in a sense. It was just there in school so I decided to sleepover and just wake up in time for class. I didn’t want to hassle my mom to fetch me late at night then bring me to school quite early in the morning. So I’m really sorry ASLA and ACTM 😦 Doesn’t mean I love guys and girls any less 😦 The circumstances were just against it.

Saturday morning, woke up early thanks to the phone calls of Gianna and Maia! Sad that Diana had to leave because she has a MEA PlanSem.

Before I left the RecWeek peeps, Charla got someone to take a picture of us. Sadly this isn’t a complete photo.Scared of what’s ahead of me but I really believe that with optimism and faith in God, and a lot of coffee and milk tea, we’ll be able to make a fun fun fun fun you will look forward to the RecWeek event. Prayers for an even more successful one this year please!

I attended class after and after that I realized something funky…

the bun of the filet-o-fish burger of McDo looks so odd! Haha! That’s it for this week! 🙂

JTA. So Rough, Baby Baby Baby Baby Baby.

I’m back from Singapore

I got home from Singapore on April 12 around 1:30 am. Had to be in school around 10 am for errands, an interview and a meeting. Such a crazy day!
First, I just confirmed my schedule and it’s totally crazy! I am hoping Sir Wilson Gan will reconsider the schedule of our Marketing class and make it Monday-Wednesday afternoon. Stress to have a Friday night class and a Saturday morning class! I am hoping for fun classmates from other blocks. I know that my ComTech JTA blockmates are fun already so yeah. Haha!

I went to MVP 101 to pay for my locker violation thing. Totally wasn’t aware of it! But I really hoped that my black cardigan was inside because since the last day of classes, I really couldn’t find it. Thankfully, my cardigan was inside my locker! Didn’t care if I had to pay 200, I really love my cardigan!

I went to my ACTM Finance Core interview after and I could say it was really fun! although I can say that, it’s my worst interview ever. As in I was just so messy! Thank God Inno’s nice and was totally cool about it. I trike’d to Boulevard Diner to have lunch with Rem, Gayle, Nikki and Trisha. I was so lost! The trike driver was super annoying even! He wanted me to pay him 75 pesos! Crazy! Gave him 50 since I stressed him out a bit.

It was a small resto with good food. Although it might be pricey for some, you should totally try it out! It was so nice to lunch out with them! Really missed seeing these people!

Afternoon I waited for a bit and met up with Josh and Krista for our first ever 1st General Assembly! Agpoon was there for a bit. Really happy I saw them! And I am really psyched for the 1st GA, it’ll be really awesome :>

Yesterday, I went to school late afternoon for a meeting with the OrSem ENT people. I met with Eljohn first and he gave me this slip of paper for our meeting on Saturday. I then met with Bernice who is my very awesome Irwin head! Haha! After our quick meeting, I rushed to the OIR to ask about classes available in the school I’ll be going to. Got super bummed that most of the classes I wished to take are only available during the Spring Semester 😦

Went to the OPS room for the ENT meeting which Paten headed. Before the meeting though Al and I got to talk about many random stuff. Really missed this Korean Chinese guy considering we worked together a lot of times last school year. The ice breaker was really sabaw and by that I mean it took up 1/3 of the whole duration of our meeting, or maybe 1/4. It’s fun and effective! I now know all the names of the people there!

Al is the side-viewed one. He looks more Korean than Chinese!

Can’t wait for OrSem! Feels weird though, to be honest, to not be a TnT. 😦 Although I know I will enjoy being in ENT, after all OrSem is not about me and my growth, but about the incoming freshmen. Really excited for them but I’m just so </3 that I have classes during OrSem. Really hoping profs will give us free cuts!

Semi-Food Trip

I brought my camera today thinking it’s the best day for me to pig out and try out at least 5 stalls participating in the JSEC Challenge. During my first break, I went to the SEC-field and confused which to try first, I looked for someone who knew the good food and possibly 80% of stall owners there. So who’s this someone? The hyperactive Kit Ang!

He got me to taste this really cute unagi looking food which was prepared by his friend on the spot! It’s a big unagi sort of thing actually. It was spam, rice and nori. Really delicious! Try it out tomorrow during your free time! 🙂

On my way to get my drink from another stall, he introduced me to his friend. It’s cute how Kit has super small eyes while his friend had her eyes wide open! Haha!I had milk tea from Robo I think? Can’t really remember the name of the stall. Best milk tea I have tasted in school since Buddha Bean actually!

I saw Ellie before I started eating and it was a surprise that she knows Kit! Apparently they train together or something. Badminton, I think? Kit left and I was with Ellie and her friend, Karla. Fun company, actually!

After some time Krista came but we didn’t get to bond much because we all had to go to our classes. And Krista, if ever you see this, I know this is not a flattering picture of you but it’s better than the other one I took! haha!

After Theo, I got hungry again and went back to the SEC-field. While looking at the stalls, two people managed to get my attention, Jone and Sophie. Apparently their stall is the one selling the hot dogs some of my friends have been wanting to taste! And it’s good ha!

Here’s Sophie being pretty and covering Jone! Haha!

Super satisfied with the food of the stalls I have tasted so far. Tomorrow I shall try Chicken Strip, Weezy’s Kebab and Wrap ‘n’ Roll! Hope they won’t disappoint!

Speeches. Platforms. and some Questions.

January 28, 2011

Ever since High School this time of the school year would always be one of my most anticipated ones (not counting the breaks, of course!) This time of the year would always be filled with discernment and surprises. It’s always nice to see people stepping up but it’s also nice to see people to step down to give opportunities for others.

Yesterday, we had our annual Miting de Avance where the 19 EB candidates presented their platforms and answered some mild, tough and very tough questions by the panel comprised of the incumbent EB (seniors and those not running: Roshni, Fara and I). We started at 4:30 and the presentations began!

Pre Miting de Avance Photos:

JonnDy and Froi! Two of my favorite MEAns! Congratulations for the successful elections!

Bien and MattLee, 2 of the many other ASLAns running for position. Apparently, the ACheS Miting de Avance was just on the room before us!

Miting de Avance time!

Fara and Mindy representing the CorRel Department!

Katz and Mon. Supposed to be a candid shot but Mon saw the camera…well how can you not notice a dSLR if it’s just 4 rulers away from you? Haha!

And now, the 19 EB Candidates!

JR and Isay were the first ones to face the Open Forum!

Krista, Liz, Dawn, Benny, Katie, Angel, Derrick, Ranamae.

Gayle, Gelo, Xea, Jonan, Mia, Ja, Bien, Al, Rem.

Paolo with his notebook filled with questions from cover to cover! Haha! Well not really, he just didn’t ran out of things to ask.

Despite the fact that the Miting de Avance was around 4 1/2 hours (4:30-9:00 PM), I can say that everything was worth it. Almost 2 1/2 hours of questions and answers. Some things were cleared up yet some things were left as is because of the lack of time. And I hope that the intense questions helped the candidates be more truly aware of the positions they’re running for. Hopefully 🙂 So best of luck to all the candidates and to those who will not be elected, I hope that you will not lose passion in serving and leading the organization and its members.

And to end this post, I wish to impart you something I learned over the SemBreak:

“God calls you to the place where your DEEPEST GLADNESS and the world’s GREATEST HUNGER meet”
