In a ditch effort to prevent myself from being consumed by negativity, I have decided to get a shrink. Kidding, those are too expensive. I downloaded a mobile app Sunday last week that that has been encouraging me to find happiness in everything. So far, it’s doing me a lot of good.
So I went to the Ateneo for the last time before I leave to, supposedly, go for ACLC Prayer Session and for AJMA Week but the PS was cancelled as well as my role for the AJMA Week. Blessing, really, because I got to spend some time with friends and to just enjoy the AdMU campus
before the completion of the stupid SM Blue Residences before I walk the halls of ESC Rennes (Rennes School of Business). May I just say, it really reminds me of Rockwell! Haha!
Really happy I saw Goldie, Juan, Jason. The three ME sophomores from COA Special Projects who will I surely miss! I saw Suzie, Ken, Charla, Meryl, Irwin, El, among other COA people. I also saw a lot of other friends. AWW will really miss laughing and playing Monopoly Deal with them!
Quite the cutest thing that happened while I was in MVP. Paten gave me money to buy her a Longchamp. And Wenz happened to fetch Paten. Then I dragged Paten to see Froi. And we went to get Angelli and it was a reunion for Ohana! HAHA! too bad Stif and Stef weren’t there! For the former, obviously because he’s busy with thesis and the latter, because she’s a working girl now HAHA!
I headed to Saint’s Alp Teahouse to, as promised, get milk tea and get some toast. I totally love their Black Tea with Milk! You should try it out! I headed to CTC 104 to crash a COA TD training for AMP on Marketing. There I got to reunite with Tricia Mallari. The woman who introduced me to the world of marketing! She’s also the Marketing Head of RecWeek for this school year!
And I look ugly here HAHA! Martin Tee! Probably one of my friends I get to talk to a lot online but I rarely see in campus. Happy I got to see him before I leave! Always take care and remember, SMEGsem ka! Don’t be too busy with everything! BUT also remember that we’re just here to support you all the way! 🙂
It was a fun day and to top it off, as we JTA people are leaving, new people are coming to school!
June 27-July 1,2011
After numerous weeks of planning, of night meetings, of email and telephone frustrations, of pitches, McDo deliveries, RecWeek’s finally done. I seriously didn’t expect to be able to survive the demands of RecWeek, for a time OrSem, ACTM’s 1st GA planning and acads all at the SAME time. It was, without a doubt, the most stressful project I’ve ever been part of but at the same time, it was the most fulfilling and the one which brought much happiness after every meeting, after every day of RecWeek and after RecWeek itself. I was blessed to be a part of such a diverse set of people and I’m just so grateful that in the process of meeting a lot of new people, I was able to be of service to the many organizations in Ateneo.
For the whole week our call time was 6 am and it meant that I had to wake up at 5 am everyday all though there were instances that I didn’t sleep at all due to all nighters for that week. Monday, I accidentally cut OpMan to see the parade. And it was fun seeing people all prepped up for it! And because I am biased towards BC I’ll be placing some BC pictures here HAHA!
AJMA (joined only this year!)
MEcO with the BC CHeST (Michelle and Mico). I’d like to note that Coby became my friend because of the COA pitches HAHA!ACTM with the BC CHeST. Katie so cutie!Me with the DSLD reps! Irene, Zee and Martin! Everything about RecWeek was magical for me. I got to bond with a lot of people and it completely made me forget about worries acads-wise. I remember the time that I actually cried going back to the MVP Roofdeck because our Marketing pass was late and it was just so screwed all over. But when I arrived there, Tricia Javelosa, Jason, Mico and Charla were there ready to comfort me. Thank you guys and girls again for that.
RecWeek also made me see how passionate a lot of my friends are in their respective organizations. I saw a lot of them at the Roofdeck promoting their organizations, having booth shifts and some of them even convincing me to join their orgs! HAHA! Anyway here are more pictures!
Me with Maronne
Marco, an ASEC member. Despite being a JTAer he’s still lending a hand to ASEC which I joined this year!Ahiya KitKit! Forget what org he was promoting HAHA! HIHI. Kit’s probably the most sabaw CTM’12 JTAer I know! Never a dull moment when he’s around.
Veron and Kevin! LEX and MACA! I both signed up for both HAHA!Anaelle for CoSA! I also joined it this year. HAHA!Then there was this one time that a lot of people just roamed around the MVP roofdeck promoting their orgs and it was so cute that they all went to the stage and they were waiting for a photographer to take a picture of them! HAHA! I see Jayvee for LEX, Kevin for MACA, Vannah for TA, Arjo for Blue Rep, Cham for something HAHA! Mon for APAIR and El for PAC. Pat for ENTA then someone for ACTM :))
Would’ve added more pictures but this is already filled with a lot! I enjoyed RecWeek more and appreciated it more this year having been able to work behind the scenes. Can’t wait for next year’s RecWeek! 🙂
March 27-30, 2011
Around this time last week, I was in Mauban Quezon with a few friends for this leadership seminar which Bien-Bien spearheaded along with Henson and JQ. Bien-Bien thought of doing Abot Tanaw in Mauban after ASLA 9. Preparations were done with the help of a lot of ASLA 9 participants. It was really preparing for stuff, actually. It was like preparing for the CSO LeadSem, Sanggu-HS LeadCamp, ACTM LTC Trailblazer and I guess it was a sneak peek for the preparations for ASLA. It was quite unfortunate though that there were only 9 of us who were able to go mainly due to logistical concerns. It was a blast though!
Us minus JQ outside the Pagoda restaurant. We were supposedly imitating something, not sure what though. It was in this restaurant that I ate my first suso(snail) and pancit habhab. The latter was really delicious! For the former, it was very exotic for me, but it also tasted good.
When we arrived at the White House, we chilled and did some last minute preparations for the 2-day affair. The whole time we were just planning and preparing more to make the event really awesome and unforgettable.
Come the first day, (March 28) we were set to conquer the potential-filled youth of Mauban.
There were a lot of things that happened in a span of 2 days for the kids. And as much as they have learned many things about themselves and opportunities after school, I also learned stuff about myself. I learned a lot about facilitating from JQ and Henson, truly appreciate those. I would really love to share what happened in Quezon but I don’t wish to spoil the stuff for future Abot Tanaw.
All I can say is that in those 4 days I spent with awesome, crazy friends, co-faci’s, I really had fun not just because we fooled Xab on the way, or because of the fun feeling being faci’s, or because we had how many jump pictures while we were in the beach. More than those…
I found lifelong koo koo friends.
People who are game to be shot in other words, people who love my camera. Haha!
Friends who will be there to help me when I have problems and dilemmas. Friends I know I will hold on to, no matter what.
Friends I can share my dreams with and more than that, I feel that we’ll be helping each other achieve our dreams.
People who will help me cling on to my passions.
I guess looking back at that amazing experience, of sleeping on a couch for 2 nights, of trying my best not to cry during some of the activities, of eating new food, of taking 2000+ photos, of drinking lambanog and a lot more… I found myself to be like a kid who has big dreams, and while on top of a hill wishing to go down from it.
And as I go down, I wish that more friends will go with me as I spread my own ripples.
February 24, 2011
Last night, some of my ASLA batchmates and I went to Cam Ang’s mansion for a simple yet fun-filled get-together. I thought I’d be super mega early…thankfully not! The early birds who were there were Martin, Weanne, Billie and Esa! Martin, pimpin’ haha!
We decided to set up the stuff already so CamAng brought out her extension cord socket thingy and we kept on poking fun at it! We had a fun time trying to further extend it because apparently it could be as long as 4 times the size of CamAng. Haha!
While having dinner we were just sharing ghost stories. Odd topic for a get-together but it was still amusing! To be honest, I was so paranoid the whole time when I got home. Haha! Elijah arrived after some time.
